1.Hot Melt Glue Roller Coating Machine Series
Hot melt glue roller coating machines—also known as glue spreaders or roller coaters—apply an even layer of hot melt adhesive to sheets, boards, or roll materials. They are commonly used in EPE foam processing, leather lamination, building material backing, paper lamination, foam bonding, and footwear material production.
Unlike carton sealing machines, roller coating machines apply adhesive across a material surface. Coating width and glue application weight are key selection factors. Oushida offers models ranging from compact 300 mm machines to wide-format 1,300 mm equipment, with many customers in the EPE foam processing industry.
2.Choose the Right Machine for Your Material
The series includes three main configurations:
- OSD-1300mm Top Roller Coating Machine: A heavy-duty, wide-format model for large panels and wide rolls.
- OSD-400B Series: Compact roller coating machines in benchtop and floor-standing sizes, suited to small workshops and sample production.
- OSD-600A Series with Pressure Roller: A mid-size production model with pressure roller feeding, commonly used for EPE foam processing.
Common features across the series include CNC precision machining, copper doctor blade adjustment for glue application, branded motors and bearings, and a progressive preheating glue tank with a non-stick Teflon coating on the inner wall. Each heating zone can be controlled independently, and the machines include an insulated standby setting.
3.Series Features
- CNC precision machining with a copper doctor blade for adjusting glue application
- Branded motors and bearings, with stepless speed control for the main drive
- Progressive preheating glue tank with a non-stick Teflon-coated inner wall
- Independent temperature control for each zone and an insulated standby setting to help save energy
- External housing for easier cleaning and maintenance
- Adjustable pressure roller height from 5 mm to 200 mm
- Customizable coating rollers: smooth, mesh, dotted, or grooved
4.Applications
Suitable for EPE foam, leather lamination, building material backing, paper lamination, foam bonding, footwear materials, and composite production.
5.Machine Selection Guide
- For materials up to 300 mm wide and lower-volume production, choose the OSD-400B Series.
- For materials 600–1,000 mm wide, especially EPE foam processing, consider the OSD-600A Series with pressure roller.
- For materials over 1 meter wide, large panels, or wide rolls, choose the OSD-1300mm Top Roller Coating Machine.
Select the roller pattern according to the material and application: a smooth roller is suited to flat, even bonding; a mesh roller supports higher glue pickup for foam; a dotted roller can reduce glue use and allow breathability; and a grooved roller is used for specific coating patterns.
6.OSD-1300mm Top Roller Coating Machine
The OSD-1300mm is a heavy-duty, wide-format hot melt roller coating machine with a maximum effective coating width of 1,300 mm. It handles material thicknesses from 5 to 30 mm and provides adjustable glue application of 30–150 g/m². Variable-frequency speed control delivers a line speed of at least 30 m/min, making it suitable for continuous coating of wide sheets and rolls.
Wide, Adjustable Hot Melt Coating
With a 1,300 mm effective coating width, the machine can coat standard panels and wide-format rolls in a single pass. Its adjustable thickness range accommodates EPE foam sheets, foam boards, thin wood panels, and leather rolls.
Glue application can be continuously adjusted from 30 to 150 g/m² using the copper doctor blade. This allows operators to set a thinner adhesive layer for precision lamination or a heavier layer for bonding rougher surfaces.
The machine runs at ≥30 m/min with variable-frequency motor control. When integrated with an unwinding and rewinding line, it can support continuous production. It is designed for adhesives with a viscosity of 1,000–20,000 CPS and operates at temperatures up to 220°C.
Heating and Glue Application System
In the top roller configuration, adhesive is applied from above the material as it is fed through the pressure roller. This helps the material travel steadily through the machine. CNC-machined glue rollers and the doctor blade help maintain consistent glue application across the full coating width.
The progressive preheating glue tank has a Teflon-coated inner wall to help prevent adhesive from sticking and make cleaning easier when changing glue types. The glue tank, roller, and coating area have separate temperature settings, allowing each heating zone to be controlled independently.
7.Key Features
- Maximum effective coating width of 1,300 mm
- Adjustable material thickness from 5 to 30 mm
- Adjustable glue application from 30 to 150 g/m²
- Line speed of ≥30 m/min with variable-frequency control
- Compatible adhesive viscosity of 1,000–20,000 CPS
- Operating temperature up to 220°C
- 380 V / 16.5 kW power requirement (glue melter not included)
- Independent temperature control by heating zone
- Teflon-coated, non-stick glue tank
8.Typical Applications
The OSD-1300mm is used for wide-format EPE foam processing, floor backing, building material lamination, leather roll bonding, and foam board coating. It is suited to production lines processing materials over 1 meter wide that require continuous, high-speed adhesive application.
9.Installation and Configuration Notes
If your material is usually less than 800 mm wide, a 1,300 mm machine may be larger than you need. Consider the OSD-600A or an 800 mm model to match your production requirements.
Confirm that the facility has sufficient 380 V power capacity, and check doorway clearance and floor load capacity before installation. Choose the coating roller pattern based on the material surface: mesh rollers are often used for rough foam, while smooth rollers are suitable for smooth leather.
